Lore & Background
Some fans speculate that the term might refer to hidden areas within the Mammalian ruins or secret dimensions explored by Agent 8 during Side Order missions. The lore surrounding the Inkling and Octoling civilizations focuses heavily on the conflict over turf and culture in established cities, leaving no room for an unrecorded metropolis like Curio City.
In Their Own Story
The neon lights of the plaza flickered as a young Inkling checked their gear. They had heard rumors of a secret 'Curio City' hidden behind the old museum walls. Following the map they found online, they splashed through the alleyways, expecting grand architecture and new shops. Instead, they arrived at the familiar gates of Octo Valley. A nearby Octoling laughed kindly, pointing out that there was no such place—just the curiosity of their own collection waiting back home in Inkopolis.
